A twin screw extruder for masterbatch is widely used to disperse pigments, additives and fillers into a polymer carrier.

Compared with a standard single screw extruder, a co-rotating twin screw design provides stronger mixing and better dispersion. Screw elements can be arranged according to the formulation, feeding method and required output.

Stable masterbatch production depends on accurate feeding, suitable shear, controlled melt temperature and efficient degassing. Screw and barrel materials should also match the abrasiveness of pigments and mineral fillers.

When replacing a twin screw assembly, provide the machine model, screw diameter, L/D, material formula, output and drawing.
